San Francisco, Calif (August 25, 2009). – The buzz continues to build for the CD, Silky Soul Music...An All- Star Tribute to Maze featuring Frankie Beverly released digitally TODAY and in-stores September 29.  The highly anticipated ten-song CD features brand new studio recordings of Maze’s biggest hits such as “Joy and Pain” and “Before I Let Go.”  The set boasts an impressive list of urban music artists such as the legendary Mary J. Blige, Musiq Soulchild, Ledisi, Kem, Mint Condition, Joe, Raheem DeVaughn, Kevon Edmonds, Avant and the Clark Sisters with J. Moss and Kierra Sheard.

Grammy nominee Rex Rideout (Vanessa Williams, Will Downing, Ledisi) and Anthony Beverly (Frankie’s son) produced 9 tracks on the album. Grammy winner Donald Lawrence produced the Clark Sisters’ “I Wanna Thank You” track. “For the most part, we let the vocalists, and their distinctive styles command how the songs would be freshened,” says Rideout. “All of the artists did great jobs interpreting Frankie and bringing a new twist to a great song book.

"Seeing my father's reaction to the final album was priceless,” says Anthony, who also served as one of the executive producers on the project (along with Music services, LLC and his entertainment attorney wife, Heather Beverly). “To see the emotion on his face when he heard each and every song was one of the proudest moments of my life. He loves the album and is overwhelmed that so many people came together to make it happen. It is definitely a project that gives my father and Maze their just due."

Around the country, there have been exclusive listening parties that have brought out everyday fans, music industry VIPS and celebrities such as the iconic Stevie Wonder who stopped by the Hollywood album release party. Radio stations across the country are ecstatic about the tribute CD project. Joe’s remake of Maze’s “Can’t Get Over You” is #32 on the Nielsen BDS Urban AC National Radio Airplay Chart and continues to fuel the fire this project has ignited.

No one is more pleased than Frankie Beverly himself. “The tribute album for me is a special blessing from my God,” he says. “Most people who have had a tribute album given to them were not here to see it, feel it or hear it.  Well, no matter what happens in the days, months or years to come, I have indeed been blessed to see, feel and hear this gift of gifts from a loving son and his lovely wife. There are no words to express my true gratitude for all the artists involved, all of who gave one hundred percent of themselves to this project.  I have no idea what qualifies me for such a honor but I do know one thing, I will treasure this moment for the rest of my life.”

Over the last four decades, Maze has become an R&B radio staple with a dozen albums and 30 R&B chart hits. They continue to perform to sold-out arenas in the U.S.A. and abroad.

Hello to the world's greatest singer. Frankie Beverly and Maze is my all time favorite. He don't just "sing", he 'sang'. God bless the entire Maze family. I pray and look forward to the Houston concert in November '09. I have not seen the group since 1992. Most of all, I love Frankie because he love my God. May God continue to shine on you and yours.

Mr. Beverly I saw u for the first time in 2008 in Lansing, Mi and u were outstanding, I tell my daughter she is only 9yrs old, that ur music is what real music sounds like where u can listen to track after and every song is a hit. U have always had a voice that stood out amongst evry artist, but to finally see u perform was outstanding and I must say I enjoyed every minute of it. From the time u walked on the stage until the time u walked off I was out of my seat and I had on heels..lol Just keep doing what ur doing and I will always be a true fan

Frankie Beverly music inspires and brings Joy everytime you hear him sing.No matter what is going on in the world "Happy Feelings", We are One and Before I Let Go" are national anthems of good feelings and everything that's right about living, loving, friendships and family. As well as all his soulful music music. We all love Frankie Beverly and Maze. I am from a small town outside of Philadelphia called "Chester, Pa". We love Frankie Beverly and Maze like older brothers. I felt Michael Jackson was like a brother because of clseness in age but to me Frankie Beverly and Maze are worldwide icons for promoting peace and harmony in their music. I am glad his son honored his dad with this album and every now and then it's great to see other artist give their flavor to a classic . It makes it new school and old school at the same time. I acan't wait to buy the project and keep it in the cd player in the car at all times. Frankie Beverly and Maze are a classic act and guarantees that you will enjoy every minute of their performance from the first note to the last so "I am happy to see you and me back in stride again. Peace Be Upon You Always! ~Dennis Jackson~

My Man Frankie. I am 45 years old and I have been following you since I was 18. I first saw you in concert overseas while I was in the Air Force. From that moment on, I've live on your music. Of course, Joy & Pain is my favorite. Most people that I talked with love this song, but have no idea of the spiritual principle that you deliver so elegantly. In compaing a person's life and a relationship to a plant is as real a deal as you can get here on planet earth. Doesn't matter who you are, what you believe or even how much money one may or may not have, if you live on planet earth, you will expereince some joy's and pains of life ya'll.

After 25 years of a life of addiction, pain, I am now clean for over 5 years and living in the "joy". It was the joy's and the pain's of my life, like the sun and the rain, that has made me the man I am today. I am happily married and a responsilbe, productive memeber of society.

Joy & Pain helped me to understand what was really going on......thank you Sir. I have written a script for a movie that I pray will also become a tribute to you and the music you have given us over the years.

My wife and I saw you a few years ago, I've seen you 9 times in concert, and you've still got it. Keep giving us what God has given you and He will handle the rest.

Much Love & Respect Sir,

Brotha Timothy

Hi Frankie. I wait every year for your concert in Dallas. The best one thus far is when your Concert was being recorded live in Dallas. I have been a huge fan for over 20 + years. You deserve more recognition. You will diffently have your "Golden Time of Day". Why don't you perform We are Family at any of your concerts? Good Luck and Good Health!!

I am a MAZE music lover from London, England and the now legendary concerts performed here at the Hammersmith Odeon back-in-da-day have become the outstanding beautiful memories of my life. This tribute from a loving son and family is so appropriate - you surely can feel the love and nothing embodies the spirit of Frankie and Maze more that LOVE and more love. In July, 2009 concert from Philly to Newark N.J. I never wanted to 'hear I Want To Thank You" so bad. my mother past in Feb.2009 and I didn't think anyone could sing this sing and play this song like your group does. I always thank you for this song because i am thankful for all things through Crhist. Year after year my mother enjoyed hearing me praise you comcerts and she always wonder why I kept repeating myself, I have stated " THE MESSAGE S IN THE MUSIC." I have made "WE ARE ONE" our BBQ anthem, my father has his annual and like many we party hardy.

Iwant to thank you for your blessing.
