NIVA the New Soul Diva is the real deal.
Niva is not a studio production, She can Sing and riff and spit vocal flava like the old pro's from years ago. A voice that reminds us of the greats in R&B such as LINDA JONES, Candi Staton, Carla Thomas
and many more. Niva is a native of Houston Texas who left everything behind in order to pursue her dream of finding success and respect as a Soul and R&B vocalist.
Niva lives this music life as a matter of life!!!!!!!
In early march of 2008 the new black music team put an ad in the village voice backstage for a R&B singer. We needed a singer for our latest project which was a public access tv show called “The Urban Mix”. A few days later NBM received a email from a young singer by the name of “NIVA”.
Arrangements were made and Niva came to the NBM studios to meet the team and show what she could do. When Niva first opened her mouth it was clear that she was something special.
The thing that impressed the NBM team the most was Niva's old school flavor that she had combined with her formidable HipHop chops. NBM knew they had a rare gem and they were not going to let it go.
The Urban mix project called for Niva to sing Old School R&B by some of the most prolific groups in R&B. One of the songs was “Baby i miss you” by “The Delfonics”.
This song because of the lead by the great Will Hart is a very difficult song to sing.
Niva came through and met the challenge and would have made old school soul aficionados proud.
